After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Painting from Shepherd College in 1994, I went on to apprentice at two small Art Foundries. First, I studied Lost Wax Casting and Patina, then moved on to Sand Casting. In time, I found my way into the Steel Industry where I have worked as a fracture critical welder, quality control inspector, and quality assurance manager. I am currently a Certified Welding Inspector per the American Welding Society as well as a NACE / AMPP Certified Coating Inspector, Level 3 with Bridge Specialty.

Metalwork is my life, Bronze is my passion. 

Matts Metal Shop, LLC, is a small art foundry focused on quality craftsmanship. I don't compete with larger foundries for statuary or plaques. I provide custom metal castings and finishing to artists, jewelers, furniture restorers, and hobbyists.
